Some Governors have rejected the accusation by President Muhammadu Buhari that they steal funds meant for the administration of local governments. The governors who have reacted to the President’s allegation include Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), among others. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has plans to file a lawsuit against its lawmakers in the National Assembly threatening to dump the party ahead of the 2023 race. The move of the ruling party is to suspend the lawmakers from the party if they decide to defect.
